Industrial Design
The patented "Lifting Weigh Platform" allows the product to
be weighed without having to weigh the entire conveyor. This protects
the load cells from possible damage caused by excessive weight or force
being applied to the conveyor and produces highly accurate results. Another
advantage to the "Lifting Weigh Platform" is industrial
conveyor components are used without regard to their weight
Standard Controls
The CSW Weigher is controlled by industry standard PLCs instead of
proprietary control boards. Most plant maintenance technicians are
familiar with PLCs, so minimum training is required. The CSW Weigher
easily interfaces with external devices such as bar code scanners,
printers, and SCADA systems via RS232, Ethernet, or PLC communication
protocols. The Touchscreen Operator Interface is standard with
pre-programmed recipes, alarm reporting, and production reporting.
Calibration and Re-Zero routines are easily performed with the Menu
Driven screens. The Operator Interface screens are designed with
functionality and ease of use for the operator in mind.
Compact Footprint
All functions of the CSW Weighing System - Next Case Holdback,
Weighing, and Reject - occur in a single, compact footprint. With the
CSW Weigher, there is no need for a separate sequencing or reject
conveyor (which would add considerable overall length to the line).
Lifting Weigh Platform
As the product is conveyed across the CSW weigher, the patented
"Lifting Weigh Platform" lifts the product off the conveyor
belt for weighing. The weight of the product is totally supported by
the Lifting Weigh Platform at this point. The advantage here is the CSW
Check Weigher weighs just the product, not the conveyor.
Next Case Holdback
The Next Case HoldBack Mechanism is used to ensure only one case at a
time is on the weigh platform. Normally, this is only required when
cases are not evenly spaced (for example: if a case is taken off the
line for inspection and then put back on the line). In a typical
installation using competing designs, a separate "sequencing conveyor"
is required adding considerable overall length to the line.
Reject Mechanism
Once the product has been weighed, the measured weight is compared to
an Over and Under Weight, which is part of a recipe entered through the
Touchscreen Operator Interface. If the case weight is out of tolerance,
the case is automatically rejected off the line. Once again, the CSW
Weigher saves plant floorspace by rejecting off the same conveyor that
is used for weighing. All three functions, Next Case Holdback, Weighing,
and Reject occur in one single, compact footprint! Right hand and left
hand rejects are available
